Making the choice to set up an appointment with a therapist can be a difficult choice. Recognizing the need and/or desire to make change and having the courage to ask for that guidance is a step that can be difficult to make. Meeting for an intake is simply a meeting to discuss what currently brought you to this point and to set up goals you have in mind to work towards. Together, we can decide if this is a good fit and what those attainable working goals would be. I think people often feel that setting up therapy is something that will go on indefinitely and that is rarely the case.

Many people will come once a week at first, then may come twice a month or evenly monthly as they progress.  It is unique to each individual and their needs. Life is busy so make this time count. If you make the time to come in, then I encourage you to make the time to follow through with your goals. I hope you find the strength to identify your vulnerabilities and harness the power to turn them in to your strengths.
