INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING
I work with individuals using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy which looks at how our thoughts and mind set affect our behavior. I also utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques.
JOINT PARENT AND CHILD SESSIONS
I enjoy working with families to set goals and increase communication to improve home life and relationships. I will assess if family therapy is necessary and refer you on to a specialized Marriage and Family Therapist if I feel this will be beneficial.
BORDERLINE TRAITS
I am interested in working with female adolescents and women struggling with Borderline traits which can include unstable relationships, poor self image, impulsive and destructive behaviors, and emotional swings. Working to regulate moods and improve relationships is vital to feeling strong emotionally.
PARENTING DIFFICULTIES
Parenting children can be very challenging and overwhelming. It is important to know when to set important boundaries with our children as well as how to develop validating and loving relationships that will last a lifetime.
PMADS (Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders) and Perinatal Loss
I have been trained and certified through the Seleni Institute in NYC to provide support for mothers and couple struggling with PMADS and Perinatal Loss.
DEPRESSION
I work with individuals suffering from Depression who are struggling with lack of motivation and follow through in their day-to-day life. We can focus on ways to improve and regulate moods.
ADHD
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a well known mental health issue. I am very familiar with identifying struggles with executive functioning skills that are the cornerstone of this diagnosis. Resources for ADHD and strategies to succeed are also an important part of therapy.
STRESS & TRAUMA
Stress is individual to each of us and is a part of every individuals daily life. Using mindfulness based practice we can work to find success in dealing with day to day stress. Trauma can also be identified and a plan will be put in place to deal with this trauma so functioning can be restored.
ANGRY OUTBURSTS
Learning how to appropriately express anger and identify its source is an important part of therapy. If your child is struggling with anger and the appropriate expression of it, I will help to find less impulsive and destructive means of expression.
ANXIETY
Anxiety can be overwhelming and crippling for many people. It is important to isolate the triggers or source of anxiety. We want to develop and utilize strategies and coping skills to decrease this anxiety and be successful in everyday life.
